The Jijivisha Fellowship
The Jijivisha Fellowship places carefully selected art educators inside low-income classrooms.
Our fellows come from backgrounds in the arts, psychology, education, facilitation, and art therapy. Through a rigorous selection and training process, they become full-time educators and community workers in low-income communities, working closely with children, teachers, parents and schools.
In Jijivisha classrooms, art periods become structured experiences that build a child's sense of who they are, what they are capable of, and where they are going.
From climate awareness to gender equity, children use poetry, theatre, storytelling, movement, and visual art to explore the world around them and carry their voice into daily life.

The Jijivisha Fellowship
Through Community Art Projects, fellows work with children to respond to their own realities. These projects either address a challenge in the community or celebrate its culture, stories, and abundance. Children document family histories, create films on social issues, design murals, publish books, and build theatre performances.
In the process, children move from passive observers to active co-creators. Parents become collaborators. Communities begin to see young people as leaders, storytellers, and changemakers.
